Sears Snow Blower

A Sears Snow Blower or a craftsman snow blower are one of the best snow blower machines on the market. I have had one for over 25 years and with the exception of a few minor repairs, this snow blower has done great work blowing my driveway and the driveways of several of my neighbors. I have replaced the sparkplug twice, replaced the gaskets in the carburetor once, placed a new tube in one of the tires after it picked up a nail and replaced two bushings on the auger shaft and drive shaft. I was able to do all of this maintenance myself on my sears snow blower for less than $100.

Of course if I had taken my sears snow blower to a small engine mechanic, I would have had to spend significantly more, however these machines are relatively simple to work on. In addition my local small engine mechanic was more than willing to give me advice as long as I purchased the parts from him, which effectively paid for his time providing me with advice. Always shut the machine off before working on the snow blower for any reason. The auger can tear an arm off easily and explosions can occur if you are filling the gasoline tank with gasoline while the engine is still running. So always turn them off before doing any kind of work on them. In fact many people will tell you to disconnect the spark plug first before doing any work. This is just safety procedures that cost nothing and yet can avoid major accidents.

The sears snow blowers come in various sizes and power. Talk to the sales person to decide how big a machine you actually need. You can clear snow from a large area with lots of deep snow with a small machine, however it will take longer and they may not blow the snow as far as you would like. It may be worth the extra money to purchase a large sears snow blower to make your snow clearing job easier..
